If you are working towards making a change this year but haven't put it into action yet, there is still plenty of time to start. If you have begun, how is it going? Are you keeping going, or frozen, not making further progress?
Whatever your position is, here are 3 suggestions that research suggests you can use to improve your chances of success:
- Tell someone you have confidence in about your goals -
it seems more of a commitment when it isn't only you who knows
- Set your goal(s) -
know where you are aiming, but also identify which steps along the way will be success markers for your progress
- Spend a short time each day visualising a time when you have succeeded in the challenge you have set out on.
Recall the positive memories from that time, how you felt, any pleasant details about that experience. Then visualise succeeding in your current goal and bring those positive feelings and memories to the scene.
